Acctualy the Isreal is on the Palistine territory leagly. The day after Isreal was created a collection of Middle Eastern Countrys, (the ones that also voted no in the UN for its establishment) declared war on Isreal. Isreal decided it wasn't going to wait until they were atacked and atacked the contires that had declared war on them.
According to the Peace treaty that was signed Isreal is to occupy the land until the Nations that declared war on them reconize it. So far only two countries have done so, egypt and one other. There are 5 more left.
