    Cricket Lengend Dies

    I heard earlier today that South African cricket legend Hanse Cronje (excuse the spelling), died today in a plane crash. It hasn't even been a day, that he passed away and already the media, is asking the question, what will he be remembered for? I hope more than anything at the moment that he is remembered for the cricket player and captain he was. A brilliant player, and an excellent leader role model. He is human, human's make mistakes. So I hope people can realize this and grow up and pay tribute to the legend he was. He deserves it.

    I don't know about cricket or Hanse Cronje, but while reading this post I rememberd that there are many famous people who died in a plane crash. Ofcourse there are more famous people who died in other ways. But in some way, such as this makes remembering someone more stronger.

    I would have to question that. Is cheating and match fixing for profit an example of an "excellent leader role model"?

    Hmmm tough one this:

    I, of course remember his playing ability

    However as he (unfortunately) died not long after being found to be a cheat, that sticks in my mind more.

    I presume he will be remebered more for his cricket, but certainly not a role model
    Such is life.

    He was human, humans are doomed to make mistakes, it's in our nature. Ive done things Im not proud of, but so has any person. And if someone reckon's that they haven't done such things, is either a liar or from another planet.

    BTW I think there is more to the scandals Hanse was involved in, I believe he got dealt a bogus hand. S hit happens! Rsoles cause it. And the world goes on. I think we should move on from the fact that the incident happened. It should be left behind us, learn from it, but move on. Importantly, remember his triumphs and achievements not his mistakes.

    We all have, but you were not holding yourself up as a role model. If HC had done something wrong, not associated with cricket, then fine, but he was found to have cheated at a game with a long and noble history of sportsmanship.

    I don't doubt that for a minute, and I bet there are some proffessionals around today that are just as guilty, but they didn't get found out.

    No, he admitted he had taken money to play below his ability. He also induced others to play badly, including one of SA's first black players.

    Really? I haven't heard about him for years! It's ben several days since this was posted, and I only just heard about it on the news!

    Get this...remember his achievments and move on...yeh, right.....lets remember hmmmmm lets see...hitlers achievments.


    Just because Cronje was a good cricketer does not for ONE minute mean we should forget his wrong doing. Yes we are all human, but then again we are not all on TV are we?

    Its unfortunate for the above posts, but you see--there is no escape after death any more--you play by the rules in life or they may be with you in death. Of course, some people have become WAY more famous after their death.
