    installation of Redhat Linux 7.2

i wish to know how can i install my Linux to my notebook where my cdrom is out. I only have a Windows 2000 Professional in my notebook.

A integrated Ethernet LAN. I haev another PC with Redhat Linux 7.2 installed. Just wonder can i use that to connect 2 together and use the PC CDROM to install with a peer to peer CAT5 TP cable.

I really have no idea and someone can please give me some guide. I'm a newbies in Linux.

If i can install from NTFS partition which the files in the Redhat CDROM is copied to that partition. As far as i concern, it's not permitted.

    Thanks for any expert advise.

Does your nic support booting from it?
When your laptop is booting up do you get something asking you for a key to boot from network?

Or you can always take the long hard way and dl it from the internet. But that will take a long time. Or another thing you can do other than what is mentioned is take it from the other unit and store it on a temp FTP server. Then connect to it from the laptop and dl it. Mine is on cd so i'm not sure how to do it from the net, plus i'm running mandrake so i could be wrong.-

The last two replies don't make sense to me.

When your laptop is booting. Select boot from network option, direct the boot path to the cd rom in your PC so your laptop is booting from the RH disk you have in your PC. I assume it is the two RH install CD's you try to install from.

Sorry, I would give you a step by step instruction if I could but it been along time sense I did it and it is different on most computers.
You need to have the first Linux instalation CD in your PC's Cd-rom drive. It needs to be shared and you need to direct your nic to read that CD. I am sorry but that really all the help I can give you.
