Thread: Skirmish (Paintball)

I had my first skirmish experience today. Sure was a lot of fun, although some minor cuts and bruises. Has anyone else here done it? How did you like it?

God would I ever love to kick some ass... i seem to have a natural aim...

Aiming skills are important, but being able to be strategic and having the guts to take it to the other team are important too.

Have fun but I have to say my piece. I don't understand why young people like paintball. My father was a COP for 30 years, he was good with guns, especially the shot gun, so I have seen these things. Next time I pick up a gun than I'm going to use a real gun and I'm going to shoot someone. Actually I have pointed a real gun at someones head without them knowing but I've never picked up a paint gun. Those things are not toys! Guns are not toys. If you are in the military than guns are useful but otherwise they should not exist.

Yeah I agree guns aren't for kids, but I could be here all night arguing the topic of guns in society so I'll stop now before I get started. Anyway, I think the thrill of paintball comes from a kind of primitive instinct to charge into battle.

My Dad's a cop too, been in for 10 years. Currently a Sgt.

Regarding common people bearing arms. All I can say is that I live in Canada and civilians are not permitted to own guns. There is a lot less violence here than in the USA and most criminals who do happen to get a gun is able to get it from the USA.

I might use a gun but only if I had to go to war. If that was the case than I'd run obstical courses, roll in the mud, shoot targets, etc. But as soon as I got home from the war, if that was possible, than I'd store the gun away because it would be useless. I don't think that the only people that shouldn't have guns are teens, infact I don't think any civilian of any age should own a gun.

My dad retired in 2000, he now does security. It's a much more relaxed job. The police pention is good. Apparently when he started with the COPS it was not a great job but for the last decade it has became a high paying middle class job. You practically need a degree now to get on the police force.

Must be something is common in most Commonwealth countries - we can't bear arms unless here in Australia. Anyway, there are very few gun-related deaths here largley due to very strict gun ownership-licensing rules and a massive 5-year crack down on illegal arms.

I've played paintball a couple times - it was a blast, but I'm not very good...

My favorite part was when I was trying to decide if the person I was about to open up on was on my team. I decided too late that he wasn't as he wheeled around and fired once. The ball hit my goggles and some of the paint splashed through the air vents in it and I was left with a weird sunburst type pattern around my eye.

lol, the first game I played I got hit right in my goggles from this guy who was like 1m away - I could barely find my way back to the safe zone as I couldn't see past the paint on my goggles.

The funniest hit was my mate Dave who copped one right in is arse - man I couldn't stop laughing, he was hobbling around like mad.

My cousins played once (they played capture the shovel instead of capture the flag - there wasn't anything flag-like around) - one hid in a tree and shot his best friend in the back of the neck from maybe 5 feet away - it left a permanent scar.... How many fun activities do that?

What's worse - that he shot you 10 times from point blank range or that you shot him in the back of the head at point blank range?

When my friends and I play, we just kinda say "BANG! You're dead!" if we're within like 5 feet of each other.

Um.... yes... Did I miss smth, or doesn't the mask go on the head?
