    Anybody know a hardrive defragmenter that Actually works for XP?

    Please I need to defrag my hardrive.

    I never used XP but are you sure it doesn't come with one? W2k does.

    Well how long ago did you defragment? How long does it take to get to 1%? How big is your HD?

    uh 30 gigs and I figured that after about 10 to 15 minutes if should go above 1%...

    I have seen slower defrags then that..Leave it over night

    it took my friend 3 days to defrag his harddrive after about 2 months of not doing it.. his has 28 GIGs full of crap.

    get the real defragmenter Windows just licenses the light version of the defragmenter
    get diskkeeper 7.0

    and btw with diskkeeper 7.0 you don't need as much free space to run it with the version in xp you need to have a bunch of free space to run defrag with diskkeeper you don't...

    U need to close every running thread except explorer for it to work. If you have "findfast" running, I belive this is the problem.
