The mistake of going to one of only two digital thaters in ohio

Yes folks, I was crazy enough to drive an hour into Cleveland and go to a digital theatre; couldn't find any parking, everybody I talked to had made longer drives than me, and I got tickets for a screening that wouldn't start for four more hours.

But, the movie was *****in. The difference between digital and 35mm is like night vs. day.

No, it means it's either off or on.

so wait, if you take then in order written here, digital == night and 35mm == day... humpfff... whatever. What is digital theatre anyway? - Sounds kinda cool, don't know that it is though.

It doesn't use the huge film strip. It uses something else. Also, it is cheaper for the movie makers to make, but it costs the theaters a bunch to buy the new projectors. It also has better picture.

Now that I think of it, how much is a movie ticket where you are? Here, in normal theaters, a ticket is 9 bucks. These prices are getting outrageous.

i notice latest Star wars was made digitally without using film, this is good cos now the film won't degreade like those old classics weve lost. the film will last forever !!!

i presume digital theatres must use discs like DVD players ???

They actually use a magnetic tape. And when I said night vs. day I meant digital== day.

For episode III, lucas hopes to have all digital theatres where the entire movie is downloaded via satellite.
