So it seemed to me that they (the researchers) just kinda decided "if I can't prove them wrong, I'll just agree". "
The amount of evidence in-favour of chemical imbalances is truly staggering, there is no real doubt here, we know exactly what imbalances cause different varieties of depression, the very fact that anti-depressants work far better than placebos is pretty much proof that depression is caused by chemical imbalances. Thats not to say there is not a psychological side as well, there certainly is.
