    hibernate ot powerdown

Ioften use 'HIbernate' on my laptop - it saves all memory content to disk and resumes when you power up. A normal cold boot takes around 70-80 seconds
when bootinh from hibernated mode it is ready in aboiut 15 seconds. Is it safe to not shut down the laptop but use hibernate and resum instead?

Is the hibernate coded into the laptops bios or windowsME ?

If me I am told that the hibernate feature is buggy and can cause random crashes.

The longer you run any MS OS without rebooting the more unstable it becomes.

If it's win98 then I'd power down completely although I've heard stories of people not rebooting their NT/2k machines for weeks.

My Win2000 PC is great, even when being on for weeks on end. I love this OS
