website submission is an art... and has a serious learning curve. Spend the time to learn from the above site and pay the $25 per year....

Submitting your site and getting it near the top of its category (so it shows up on the first page of results to a search, not the 100th page) are two different things.
Googgle wants you to pay for the top spots. Most of the big engines want you to pay.
