hard one to say, I have Suse 7.3 with KDE 2.2.2 on one partition and Windows XP on the other... i program on both platforms as well as in AIX Unix, but i would have to vote Windows XP.

Ive always been a windows man myself...

man either u have had a bad dream or maybe u just dont know wat ur talking bout. WINNT is the most ustable OS ever build.
so dont ever talk about WinNT, cuz it stinks, crashes every 30 secs later.

while Red HaT, is not as good as Open Linux and Mandrake

I beg to differ, WinME is the most unstable operating system. And I would like to see what the rest of the board thinks as far as WinNT4 goes. I like it, have had a good experience with it, maybe you just can't use computers well enough to set it up properly.

Not as a compliment to ME, but I'm having as much/more problems with XP Home. I really need to get a copy of windows 2000. I had a pirated version for a while, but I decided to get a legal OS, so I got ripped off with XP.
    >>And whoever chose WinME should be flogged...

    Then tarred and feathered.
And then have their nutts chopped off. Then their ankles should be repeatedly hit with sledgehammers.

And dayknight, you are aa complete moron. Someone should ban your IP from this board.

Windows 1.0 (came as a runtime with Aldus [as was] Pagemaker). Spot the difference between that and a Mac!!

That's odd. My work machine is permanently on 24x7 except for the odd downtime for backups etc. It's crashed twice. Both times on boot 'cos the parallel connector had worked it's way 1/2 loose. I must tell it that it's doing it wrong, and should be crashing more often.

How many cash dispensers (24x7 again) do you know that run Linux??

    hmm No vote for Caldera.
i know caldera is a very powerful open source OS, it is mainly used for development and acts as a server.
its ez to use gui is also appealing.

by lookink @ the votes so far i guess nobody knows bout Caldera

I beg to differ. Every one at my work runing NT4 and are very happy with the stability, and we are runing highend cad/cam/Database apps. Our servers are NT4 and they have never been down except for upgrades. I think NT4 is MS biggest achivment next to DOS6.22.

You should have put a general 'Linux' selection to vote for. Mandrake and Caldera are not Linux's STRONG distro's. Also, wtf isn't BSD up there?

After that WindowsME person has their nuts chopped off, etc, they should be killed by an onslaught of WinME Cd's shot straight from WinMe's origin: Bill's ass! Oh, then ofcourse, they should have a shoe thrown at them by Hillbillie

Some fine examples, to backup my opinion that NT4 is a fine Operating System.

Next time you plan to have a go at me dayknight, make sure you are right. Im willing to admit if Im wrong, but this time Im not wrong.
