Final Fantasy Movie: Rendered in Real-Time.

Has anyone else read about this? Apparently nVidia and
Square teamed up and were able to render the FF movie in
Real-Time. Yeah, it only got like 2.5 FPS, but it's still
    very impressive.

That's all I have to say about that.

    from Gamespot website
The actual production rendering of Final Fantasy movie used about 1000 processors running 24 hours a day for a year and a half. Most shots were divided into multiple layers (for example, the spirits were always rendered as separate layers) that were rendered independently then composited later as separate photo plates. One shot in the movie was made up of nearly 500 layers.
    !!!!

That almost makes up for the crappy script and voice-acting!
