To be fair aran, I believe the correct quote is "Absolute power corrupts absolutely"

    i don't.. because i don't go around collecting rat's asses.

ken, how do you know i was quoting that guy? i've heard of that quote before, but i've heard the shortened version "power currupts" a few times and it fits best here. Don't shoot down my planes, they are over international waters.

[ooo, just remembered "Saddam houssain was having a great vacation until his wife was shot down as she para-glided because she was in the no-fly zone"]

The correct quote is "power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely."
    - Lord John Emerich Edward Dalberg Acton

Aran - you're close but missing "tends to" so I would give the victory to Ken.

"A chain is only as strong as the weakest link."

This one always gets me... hasn't anyone heard of fuses? Weakest links are great, which piece do you want to blow, the 500-dollar one or the 50-cent one?

"You can't teach an old dog new tricks."

An old man was illiteral all his life, and started learning to read when he was waaay ove the hill, just like stevey (jk =)... when he was asked why he was doing it, he said: "If not now, then when?"

I often hear people mention "I could care less" when referring to a matter that they couldn't care less about.
