not walking away from a fight, when possible is egotistical and can often be fatal.
When I said "too many fights to remember", It is in fact a lie. You always remember real fights, they're to real, to scary to forget. You just may not want to relive them. serious fights result in serious injuries, hence the reason why I have had so many broken fingers, and have been stabbed, and had so many serious cuncusions(sp?). I'm not proud of my fights, in fact I disdain them, they can only hurt you or someone else.
One thing that you probably misunderstood is that most of those injuries were not from fights, but from sports. Ribs in football, arms broken. . .
I have so many cuts because I was a little crazy when I was younger and liked to do some crazy things, all of which usualy ended up in stitches.
When I was stabbed, I was actually trying to walk away from the fight, and the guy obviously didn't want me to. I won that fight, not from muscle/toughness, that doesn't matter when someone has a weapon, I hit him across the face with a 2-by4. walked away, never saw him again (he lived in my neighborhood) the whole damn thing spawned over his sister.
My advise to all from my limited experience. . .
1. never underestimate an apponent
2. only fight if your prepared to kill . . . especialy if he pulls a weapon on you
3. never fight someone who has a weapon, ever. . . unless forced
5. never fight over a girl (they're not worth it)
6. never fight someone who has nothing to lose
7. the most important -- there is no honor in fighting, all that kung fu, honor in winning crap is bull****.
And as stevey said, I'm only in highschool, I do not know everything. this is how I view things, from a ****ed time eirlier in life. I hope I never get in a fight again.
My two-pence :)
actually, i quoted your original post, because i was going to say something sensible, but then started typing and having a right rant because i was in a bad mood. what i was saying wasn't actually directed at YOU....i was thinking about some of the cocky blackbelt kids at the gym and my cocky blackbelt friend, who seem to know it all...they wind me up.....always knowingly telling me how its done....and in fact i was thinking about 1 or 2 in particular, not the whole bunch.
