I work at the FAA headquarters building in Washington, DC. I haven't heard anything yet about this from anybody down here, but I'm not in the loop. I have a couple coworkers who are in-the-know a little bit more than I am, maybe I can ask them if they've heard anything.

I think it's doing the right thing, yeah. If the DD had been a little less destructive, I'd be with them. Posting confidential documents and passing it off as testing security is a pretty crappy thing to do; they should have just emailed someone at the FAA and told them their vulnerabilities, not changed the site to show how 1337 they are.

I think it would have been more creative to add one link on the page instead of defacing the whole thing. The one link could be to a free webserver http doc that outlines the vulnerability.
They will probably get busted and receive harsh punishment. Then the government will hire them for 250K a year.

Check some MS servers for known vunerabilities (by the version running) and you will find even MS can't keep up with its own security patches.
If you run MS servers your insurance is more expensive.
