    Evangelion

I've found that a lot of the Evangelion episodes you can get on Kaazaa are corrupt, there are no sound.
    The media player says:
    "Sending request for codec"

The movie plays, but there are no sound.

Is it the movie files, or is it something with my media player? Are anyone else experiencing this?

    additionally, use directconnect.

maybe the files are corrupt, maybe you don't have the codec. are these divx files? are you using the divx player?

but yeah, just use directconnect and find a good anime hub. episodes aren't usually corrupt or broken on those.

yeah it's most likely you are missing a codec, in addition to Direct Connect try WinMX

I have a DivX codec, but perhaps it's outdated. Where can I get the latest?

DL:ed the latest DivX Player/Codec (2.0/5.0 I think), but it still doesn't work. Must be corrupt files.

It says "Audio codec: unknown" in the properties, perhaps I should have mentioned this earlier . I've tried to play it in both Media Player and DivX Player, but no sound in either...
Hm, I think I will check out Playa that you mentioned. www.Playa.com?

Nope, the Playa couldn't play the files at all. Do you know where I can find more "odd" Audio-codecs, since media player cannot find it itself. Could it be that the movie uses some non-standard audio codec?

Selecting properties on the file gives this info:

Windows Media Audio V2, 64 kbps, 44 kHz, stereo (for audio/video)

    352 x 235, 91215 bildrutor, 29,970 bildrutor/sek, 40 kB/sek, okänt format

    (swedish: 91215 frames, 29,970 frames/sec, unknown format)

    YES!!!
It works. Finally! I have 5 double-episodes (10!!! episodes) of Evangelion to watch tomorrow. Lucky I saved them instead of deleting them.

If anyone else have experienced this problem, install MPEG layer 4.
    Thanks for your help, everyone.
