    video game emulation

I was just wondering what any of you had to say about video game emulation. I think emulation is fun.

Coding an emulator is not illegal. Playing your own dumped software through the emulator is also ( obviously ) not illegal. I believe that the prupose of emulation is concrete in it's morality. Preserve the hardware VIA pc to prolong the life of a classic game that cannot be duplicated. Afterall, Pac Man was Pac Man - not Quake.

Unfortunately ( for the legal side ), when everybody sees how the format goes, they hop on google and the warez games begin.

P.S. I am aware of the previous post(s) about emulation - they weren't that long .

    Ahh, the classics. No.

I will though, on an "unheard" recommendation from yourself.

I usually play anything Street Fighter either through Final Burn Alpha or MAME ( personal sf fav being Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior ). On the other hand, set me up with a nice console emulator and some mega man titles and I'm good to go. If you want to get into a favorite game / emulator war, I'm game.

    P.S. Mega Man owns ( 46 games )

    I sense sarcasm....?

    NES emulator:
RockNes X - It requires Direct X 8 or greater. I think it's the best emulator though. It' unfortunate that for an NES emulator it requires so much power, then again it's worth it. "Full-screen" scanlines. :d

    SNES:
    ZNES is my pick too.

    Arcade:
Final Burn Alpha for CPS, MAME for everything.

    Games on all systems:
    Ninja Gaiden
    Castlevania
    Double Dragon
    Mega Man
    Kirby
    Street Fighter
    Altered Beast
    Golden Axe
    Metal Slug

I like action titles. Zelda 2, Castlevania 2, and Legacy Of The Wizard / Dragon Slayer 4 is as far as I'll go RPG. I don't mind arkanoid, tetris, "i'm bored" type games though.

P.S. Does your grammar always slip when you're tired?

I have the original 6 cartridges for the NES & the system. I've heard and read that some of those go for crazy amounts at ebay. Mega Man also has some "weird" hacks ( as does mario ).
