    Smile Dumb Consumer-information instructions !!!

I know there are legal implications/get-outs etc but some of the instructions on food products etc are just so dumb !!

A classic of the genre..i'm just this minute having a snack.....eating from a packet.....
On the front of the packet in massive letters it says "NUTS", in large slightly smaller writing it says "Large salted peanuts", on the back it says "Roasted and salted large peanuts" in pretty big writing, and under ingredients it says "peanuts, salt, veg. oil"..........

so surely the "Warning - contains nuts" is somewhat superfluous !!!

still thats better than a packet of peanuts i saw which said

"warning - MAY contain nuts" - well i sure hope so, thats the general idea of a packet of nuts !!

I remember that. Some 60 year old lady got rich because her
coffee from McDonald's spilled in lap and to her suprise IT WAS
HOT coffee! What an idiot....well, ok to be fair, What a rich idiot.

Now everytime you get coffee from a fast food restaraunt the
cup is covered with "WARNING - CONTENTS MAY BE HOT" all over
    it.

MD's lost one, but recently won one lawsuit over too hot coffee (claimed their customers expected it hot).

Some woman here went to a have a Thai meal. Asked if it contained peanuts, told it didn't (it contained peanut oil) and died from a heart attack at the table.

Thats why, in a world where people sue airlines for a 'lost' wife (missing since Dec 6th), the 'may contain nuts' warning is an easy out.

i have some sympathy cos a mate of mine is nut-allergic (not so's he' die but his face swells up !!!! )

i think in that restaurant case, all they'd done is use some peanut oil with the cooking oil. and they'd hardly used any oil ie stir-fry, so just that tiny tiny amount killed her.

but anyone not expecting to encounter nuts in a packet of peanuts either can't read , so can't read the warning either, or is too dumb to deserve to live !! re Darwinism !!!!

that's when the company should realize that they should redesign their bags.

that reminds me of one of the funniest things ive ever seen on TV,

    a clip from years ago.....
you know the rectangular cardboard milk cartons ?...
on a consumer affairs program, the M.D. of a company was on, responding to customers who thought they were hard to open...
he said don't be silly they are very easy the instructions are clear etc.....
so they challange him and give him one...
he tries to tear it along the dotted line as per instructions...can't do it [hes getting red in the face]..so he produces a pair of scissors and cuts it [says well on the instructions it says tear OR CUT]......cuts it in the wrong place....cuts again [getting stressed now] opens it out...not a good 'hole', so he cuts it horizontally also....opens it out...starts to pour it into a glass and it chugs out ALL OVER THE PLACE...hardly any gets in the glass !!
The look on his face was a peach !!!
