Does this mean I must have a passport to in the future go to the MSDN online?

I've articles like that. For Hotmail and MSN you already need a passport. And if I understood the articles well, then in the future you will need the passport for any Microsoft related service. So probably also MSDN. I also understood that everything will be net-based. So if you want to do specific things with Windows, you need to have access to the internet, login using your passport and you can do that. Also their .NET strategy will fit with this.

I am getting closer and closer to the point where I will migrate all my sytems to Linux. Actually I think w2k is the last win OS I will ever install.

i couldn't get onto a ms help mb without a passport, but i dial-up msn without one just fine.

but, i was thinking today: if i had coffee with billy g. what would i want to ask him. if i started with "where do you live, so i can padlock the frontdoor and ask you for the passport", he'd just get upset and leave. so then i thought, i bet he's a sucker for flattery: "billy, your my hero. i wanna be just like you and squash the competition and then bribe everyone in washington, maybe pay someone to ghostwrite a book that afirms my place as the most important person in the 21st century". but, now i'm thinking: "can i have a job, sir?"
