Opinions on Visual C++ .NET Standard Edition

Ok, when i was in my schools bookstore they are caring Visual Studio .NET and Visual C++ .NET Standard Edition, whats the difference between the two other than Visual Studio having the other languages. Im talking about the difference between the C++ compilers, b/c when I got 6.0 a few years ago there was 3 flavors, standard, professional, or enterprise. Is there the same thing with the Visual C++ .NET?

I think that the VS is shipped with an optimizing compiler and VC++ is not. Other then that I am asking myself the same question. Is there a point of buying the VS if I will only do C++?

VS7 comes in the same flavors as VS6.

    Reading this might help:

When in doubt, read the FAQ.
    Then ask a smart question.
