WTF??
hmm... NT... good for workstation use only in a work environment.. ie, word processing, VMX related work, etc..
I'd never use it for a home computer..
> what is the benefit of using window NT?
None.
On the surface, NT4 & 95 look the same. However, NT4 is a different code base to Win 9.x (which is built on DOS). NT4 is considered to be more robust and secure, hence its use in business & servers. However, both these platforms are obsolete, so I wouldn't use either
Use Win 2000 or XP instead. There's little difference between them, although XP has more device support and sports a Fisher Price user interface. Personally, I would go for XP Pro & set the interface to classic mode. Surprisingly for a Microsoft, both XP & 2000 seem to be quite good. Certainly a big improvement over Windoze 95.
Windows NT gives an IT admin more control over workstations from the NT server than a network of Windows 9x machines. In short, it means whoever manages your computers will spend less time moving from place to place, and more time working.
But XP and 2k are better.
I'd say run Windows 2000. It's basically NT 5 but with the user friendly features of 98. I haven't had any problems with it. NT is a different OS architecture that it's DOS based conterparts. It has better security features and true multi-user support as well, not just user preferences, plus lots of other features. I've heard XP Pro is nice too but I haven't played around with it, I'm trying to move to *nix.
I see no reason to run NT, go with 2K or XP.
>should i use window in this age?
yes, but dual boot with a *nix OS. It's not much more effort. Both operating systems will be around for a while so run them both.
If a tree falls in the forest, and no one is around to see it, do the other trees make fun of it?
