    Question of Ethics/Legality

Since the admin @ my school is too lazy to allow connections to the server, all my stuff @ school is stuck there. I cannot access it without going through the ol email to urself trick which only accepts email of certain sizes. Therefore, my question is would it be legal/ethical to install a trojan on the server so that I could access my files from home (my files only)?

How about bringing a floppy disk? It's a whole hell of a lot less risky/troublesome.

    Ethical ? Don't know.
    Legal ? NO WAY !

If you like your school and don't want to be kicked out, keep your fingers from the servers.

There have to be enough methods to do this. Try those listed above.

When in doubt, read the FAQ.

There's normally some easy way to get to blocked drives.
At my school they only blocked it by mounting some network drive over the top of A:.
    Winfile dismounts it in seconds.

    It's neither ethical nor legal.
Have you tried asking the admin to make a backup for you? That would be the first thing I try. They should be willing and able to make a copy of your data for you (given some time). Make sure you ask politely.
If that is unsuccessful then follow Fordy's advice or get some other web storage account and upload the files to that.
