    VS versus VC++/VC#

    So I am looking into buying the new vs.net suite but I only really care about C++ and C#. I can buy those two for about 200$. Is there anything else in the studio suite that should motivate me to fork up the 800 $ more it would take to get the full package?

    If you're really only interested in those 2, I'd say just buy those 2... If you think your interests will possible expand to include VB and others, buy VS....

    From what I've heard (and this might be incorrect), if you're buying the individual components that make up VS.NET then you can only get the standard editions (eg. there's no standalone professional version of MSVC++.NET) which means you miss out on things like an optimsing compiler.
