    effects echoing closer to home

it has just been on the national sky news that the air base only 5 mile from my home has been stepped up to full security and is patrolled by armed personnel, the same with RNAS Culdrose - an air support centre, they have large numbers of American Personnel, if this comes to the UK it could be a target.

    Some Brits are really paranoid.

My new college cancelled our excursion to Oxford on Wednesday because of increased security, imotional harm etc.

Yeah, people have been kind of paranoid here to. I live fairly close to Sandia National Labs (one of three nuclear labs in the U.S.) and they have stepped up security quite a bit. Los Alamos Labs is also on much higher security, especially with all the problems that they had last year.

I have noticed a lot more military aircraft flying around lately.

The army base next to my uni had choppers hovering around for a couple of hours the other day. Don't know if it's related to what has happened, or if it is in preparation for CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting) which is soon.

fly arounds are quite common, RAF St. Mawgan often have exercises and we have lots of military aircraft and helicopters flying around the area.
