I'd be suprised if petzold wasn't available somewhere as my hard copy came with a cd that contains the book in electronic form.
I don't suppose you'd upload it or e-mail it to me?

I might be so generous...but I only have 56kcould take a while...I saw the old one for Win3.1 on the net once, but the stuff in it is so old you probably wouldn't want it..I tihnk it was up on petzold's site. (the 3.1 one)

you can find many e-books both fiction and technical on
the newsgroups. To do this you need a newsreader. A
free one, I think, is available at forteinc.com. One you get
the newsreader installed, go to alt.binaries.e-books.
What you will find on the newsgroups will absolutely astound you.

whats the legal deal on uploading books to your site, i know that copying them to your site without authorisation is a violation of copyright laws but are the companies really hot on it. Do they have to request its removal first or can they just sue me immediately

I don't mind e-books, but it hurts my eyes after a while of reading them.

Petzold seems pretty good about piracy, just a personal email
to someone who was going to try to pirate his book by email.
This wasn't on a binary newgroup though. A number
of authors would get you kicked off your isp, etc.
