Most drugs in pure form (and moderation) are not that harmful. Individuals have problems that are allowed to go too far before treatment is started because of the underground nature of drugs.

Take nicotine, in pure form is one of the best drugs. Increased mental acuity, decreased reaction times and sense of well being.
Add creosote, arsnic, cooch grass and the burning agents, deliver in smoke and you have a huge problem.

Most powders and pills problem is the crap it is cut with. Not to mention not realy knowing if it is what you expected / paid for (or if it is the strength you expect).

I for one would rather be in a crowd of stoned people (except for PCP) than drunk people. (from personal experience)
Most of drugs bad name comes from lawyers using it as an excuse. "its not my clients fault because he was high at the time." (He took the drugs, did the crime and now claims to be the victim. Take some responsibility for your actions.)

When I was caught with a bong (pipe), I owned up. Very embarasing to hear later in court "when questioned if the suspect had any cannabis as well he replied "no sir, its my birthday, I was celebrating, I've smoked it all!" "

    pure stuff

    howdy,
    >Most drugs in pure form (and moderation) are not that harmful.<
i must respectfully disagree. the thing that saves most peoples lives is the fact that when they run up 50cc of street heroin it is mostly cut. pure heroin, pure cocaine, pure THC, pure meth, pure what ever is teribbly dangerous.
you seem to miss a very important point, for me and many many addicts out there moderation was not even concidered. i used drugs because they worked the more i used the better they worked period.
to even suggest that being safe in a group of heroin or cocaine ADDICTS is safe says you have never dealt with the REAL druggies believe me when i say a silly bong was the least of my worries

    >I for one would rather be in a crowd of stoned people (except for PCP) than drunk people. (from
    personal experience)<

i am not real proud to say that when people with that kind of idealistic thinking showed up the slime i ran with took complete and total advantage of them.

stoners may be save - DRUG ADDICTS probably are not!

What I meant was I would rather be in a rave full of happy E'ers than a pub full of drunk yobbos. The latter has much more violent ambience.

I make a distinction between a stoned person and an addict. Not that it is far from 'weekend warrior' to bad habit.

Yes, I have had my addict friends rip me off, and I do mean REAL ADDICTS, lesson learnt. You can be reasonably safe in a room full of snakes if you know which are poisonous. If you have an addict friend they will lie, steal or cheat you any way they can.

    >>the thing that saves most peoples lives is the fact that when they run up 50cc of street heroin it is mostly cut

    50cc -> thats a big blat (don't you mean 5cc or 50ml)?

Can't talk of the states, but here the quality varies from day to day. Most OD's here are due to random increases in purity.

If you had a doctor as a quality source, _cheap_ and always available (when you were using) would you have still bought from other dealers? Or would you have gone to the doctor and taken the risk they would put you in rehab?

    howdy novacain,
i was being a bit sarcastic (50cc) but you get the point.

this is the million $$$ question. surly in those days i wasnt real interested in rehab, but even then i would worry about injecting stuff that was made in someones bath tub.

as for drunks - i agree with you 100%

From my experience it was always cash, not supply, that was the problem for addicts. (weekend warriors have the cash)

If we can supply drugs to people at little to no cost, on the proviso they see a doctor before getting them, at least have a chance of getting help before too addicted.

Plus the dealers would have to compeate with low cost, high quality, easily available drugs. Would put most out of business, which is the aim.

Now lets start on the bastards cutting down our irreplaceable rain forrests and selling them to Japan at <US$75 a tonne for paper, when hemp could produce limitless quantities of better paper.

    hemp

    howdy,
hemp undoubtedly has many uses as an agricultural product but you as well as i know an idea like "production hemp" will never fly, at least not in the good ol USA.

They grow poppies here for opiates, very well guarded. One large womens mag mistakenly disributed O poppy seeds on the front cover!

Pres Carter nearly legalised pot, until one of his aids was busted for coke.

With no THC strains hemp for paper, like hemp for US army uniforms in WW2, hopefully will change.
