After how many posts do you stop following a thread?

I'd say after about 2 or 3 pages, unless I am really interested in it.

If it's a thread I haven't seen before and there is more than 15 posts I usually don't bother to read it, my attention span is way to short
If it sounds really ineresting then I'll have a look.

All spelling mistakes, syntatical errors and stupid comments are intentional.

Consider why he does this, perhaps it's because the answer can be found simply by looking in the FAQ, searching the boards, or searching google. Very rarely do you recieve a sarcastic remark unless the answer to your question can be easily obtained with a minimum of effort.

I stop reading a thread when it stops getting interesting, and sometimes if Salem was the last poster I feel the need to add to his answer if I think it wasn't quite clear enough.

If I posted in the thread then I'll check it every time someone replies in the hope that they are talking to me or about me. I do this so that I can feel important and also defend myself against nitpickers

how do you know if it's interesting without first reading it....or do you just skim (sp?) through it?

I generally try out the first couple of posts... if interested, follow through until it becomes just a bunch of flaming... then I skip a few pages ahead... of course, it's just a binch more flaming by then... so I go on to last page...

'course, it's not always the case. If the thread is long, I try to read the beginning and the last couple of pages... normally check the ones I've replied, too.
