    Question Winamp

How do I change the output from speakers to a WAV file? I have done it before...but cant remember how.

I have changed the plug-in to the Nullsoft Disk Writer Plug-In v1.0 (out_disk.dll)

and I have set the output directory...

but it doesnt write to the disk....is there anything else that has to be done that I forgot to do?

didn't this question come up about six months ago?? I'm not sure, but I think it is... maybe I'll do some searching on it...

are you just trying to turn mp3's into waves... and then (I'm guessing) edit them and take little pieces out of songs or something?

if that's the case... download musicmatch jukebox... you can convert mp3s to wavs... and then there's a windows wav player that you can use to chop the wav...

What you are trying to do is impossible with WinAMP.

All WinAMP does with a MIDI file is to read it and pass the MIDI commands to the sound card. It doesn't actually 'play' the file itself.

A fairly easy way to do this would be to play the MIDI files in WinAMP while recording them with some other program. You have to have a full-duplex sound card for this (one that can play and record at the same time).

Start the recording software, open your Windows Play Control and set it to record from MIDI, begin recording, then start playing back your songs.

naaa changing mp3's to wav's with WinAmp is a piece of cake. Works every time. Just go the menu, prefrences. Once there go to the output section (i think it's called output). You will see four options. The first one (the one selected normally) is the one that says output to speakers or something to that effect.

There is then another option (I think it's the last one) that say's output to disk. Select that one. Double click on it and it should give you "options." The only option for that selection is selecting which folder you want the files outputted to. Select and play the files you want to change. They'll play real quick, then it's all done...

Your point? The disk write plug-in works for everything in WinAmp...if its supported by WinAmp, the disk write plug-in should work...
