    The Tone of General Discussions

    Dear members,

We probably won't make this a 'Sticky', as this is more just a reminder for the regulars, but please treat this as you would any other "Announcement". First of all, we want to thank everyone for participating in this forum. The number of skilled, experienced members who are constantly here to answer questions make this community one of the best I have been a part of. However, we (the moderators) and some other users have noticed a trend in the General Discussions forum: there seems to be a growing number of posts containing inappropriate language and/or content, not to mention disrespect. The official guideline for the board is as follows:

Please be careful of your language and content. Keep everything suitable for children, or it will be edited. Do not do things such as * out certain letters, or purposely misspell profanity to bypass filters. This board is a PG-13 environment. The moderators reserve the right to remove or close any thread that they deem to be inappropriate.
Please be more considerate and respectful when posting, not only when giving help to new members, but also in the casual conversations in General Discussions. We don't like closing threads and deleting posts - we want to maintain an open, free, and fun atmosphere. However, the tone DOES need to improve, so please do what you can on a personal level to contribute to this. The board does filter profanity automatically, but please don't rely on this so heavily!

    Thanks!
