FireWire and the difficulty of time zones

So I was installing Debian today(finally working on my computer( and I ran into the question on whether I wanted FireWire or Ethernet. Anyone know which one I should pick? Google searches usually end in something about USB. The time zone question was equally as hard. Apparently Michigan switched from Central to Eastern a while back. Damn politicians.

You almost certainly want Ethernet networking.

As to timezones, I have no idea. I'd expect wikipedia should be able t supply that answer, tho'.

Usually wikipedia fixes all my problems but all I got was a formal UTF time. I probably just didn't dig deep enough. Anyways thanks for the reply.

Google says it's Eastern Time in Michigan, when it gives me this page:
    Michigan Time Zone
