Yes, they suck. I hate the little tactics they
pull, as if they think they're actually clever.
You know, like sometimes they add a "RE:" to the
subject line to make you think you wrote them
before. Or sometimes they put "the information
you requested" as the subject. They're really
quite dumb. Does anybody even fall for these?

I'm afraid to check my hotmail account. I'm so
    sick of deleting the emails.

Fordy, I got the same thing... only I think my total was higher... I dumped it several times yesterday and each time it was pushing 200... all from the same person...

And I just checked it again and I have another 94... but it looks like that one is finally stopped... I HATE SPAM...

I don't know... I didn't keep track, but I know I dumped 224, 117, 70 some, then I just kept it open for a while and refreshed... deleting probably 10-20 every 15 minutes or so.. then another approx 90 this morning... so I don't have an accurate count, but it was ........ing me off...

I got the warning that I was over the limit at least 3 or 4 times... and I think that has to be around a 100 emails, because I only have about 300 K in my account normally...

I have hotmail since december and I only had ONE spam mail in it. Something about a university degree.
I also had two mails from MSN it self but I don't think that would be spam

I love IM spam... Since I'm on AOL, I get it all the time.... Since my profile name is "Arthur, King of the Britons!", I always get them that say "Hi arthur, this is Candy - see me here!" or something....

    >>> I only had ONE spam mail in it.

Don't you get the "Read this mail..." one about adding your name to the list and sending 5 dollars to the other names - get's you fabulously rich in weeks? The spam filter there seems to catch most of those, but I still get 3-4 a week in my boxes.

    This seemed an interesting approach...

I got a question... you know when we get that "click here to be removed" link, is it a good idea to actually do that? ...or do they just check that you actually read the post, and have a good laugh?

BTW, I got a Hotmail account, never use it though, all the SPAM... switched to Yahoo, get a little less
This is my signature. Remind me to change it.

Hotmail cunningly disguise their spam as "system messages" <and you can't block the bastards..urg>. It's like:

    Hotmail email:

Important announcement, our system will be coming down for

BUY THE NEW XBOX NOW!!! HUNDREDS OF GAMES AND COOL GRAPHICS!!! UPGRADE YOUR MSN ACCOUNT!! GET THE WINDOWS XP(ERIMENT GONE WRONG)

nope I don't. Well at least not with my hotmail account. that one stays free from spam, for now :: keeps fingers crossed::
But I do get spam on my other mailbox and that is realy anoying(sp?). the strange thing is. That mailbox has an alias I've never used before. and all the spam goes to that alias. Perhaps when I delete that alias, the spamming will stop. A friend of mine uses "block sender" a lot. I think I'll do that too, whenever I get a spam mail, I'll add that user to my ignore list.

I never would. I posted a similar question about spamming a while ago and the answer I got was: When you press that, they'll know that your account is active.
So I would just ignore that if I was you.

500 odd emails is not SPAM its an email bombing. Trying to jam up your account so no real mail can get in.

A friend was getting a 500Kb mail from some one till it reached his 5Mb limit. Long time to download on 56K.

Block the sender and contact hotmail. Or look at the full msg header and trace the IP's at
