Close enough, there's Nintendocore (actually it's a joke genre name but people still call it nintendocore anyway).

The 60s and 70s. I imagine that's partly because of my younger days and my personal belief that beyond a few songs here and there (such as 'here without you' 3doors down), today's music is hollow or downright obnoxious (most rap).
Hell, they've even managed to ruin country -
That is caused by lack of knowledge about today's music. There are amazing bands these days in all genres. Of course, do not expect 00's pop or rock to sound anything like 70's rock (though some bands try to). It's a different era and a different sound but it's not necessarily (sp ?) better or worse.
If you don't mind, here are a few bands that are very actual and that I consider are worth listening to. They are Quebec (east of Canada) bands.
Karkwa - Le Compteur (alternative rock)
Malajube - Labyrinthes (album, alternative rock)
Polémil Bazar - Avale Ta Montre (album, alternative / ska / bohemian / big band / jazzy-sounding rock)
Oh noes, not the 70s or 80s. Thats like apes banging on drums, not that banging on drums is a bad thing. I do it. But seriously, you want a kick ass synth; thats what computers is about. and the nintendocore thing is funny. me likes
But the bands in the 70s & 80's actually play the instruments.
Ever since the 90's til now, the bands(particularly boy/girl bands, rap) rely on synth and techno to do all the bulk of the work. All they do is sing and dance.
Even lack vocal ability isn't much of a problem, because technology can remove any bad elements, and add to the voice.
Let's hear them unplugged, and see what they're really worth!
EDIT: And in the case of Nintendocore(and Gorillaz etc), you don't even see any real people, just animation.
So the human element is missing.
