without knowing your friend's preferences it's impossible to give meaningful advise.

I'm not sure that it would be too appropriate to assume he means XBox 360 when he said XBox. It's best to pose a request for clarification first.

Well, yeah it’s a Xbox 360, and from what I have seen he seems to play quite a lot of shooting same which I could parse it that way... lol. Like halo3, Gears of War and stuff. May be some games with belongs in that category.

    Thanks a lot guys,

Fallout 3 has excellent graphics and storyline but may be too "tame" for someone who's mostly into pure shooters.

Yeah, ssharish, if you really cared about your friend then you'd let your friend try some of the other suggestions. Broaden his gaming experience and gain levels in something else...

If you think that's impossible, then i'unno, has he played any of the Time Crisis games before? Time Crisis 4 is on the 360.

Yeah Fallout 3 seems like a good one, been doing a small research now lol. Whiteflags yeah I do really care about him, he is been known to be for like quite a long time (to be honest, it’s been years now). You are right in saying that may be he should broaden his gaming experience.

I also came across the following games, what do you all think?

    1. Prince of Persia
    2. The elder Scrolls
    3. Left 4 Dead

I guess Prince of Persia looks like a good one. Which is of a completely a different story line and not a shooting games, which may allow him to experience some sort of a new gaming experience. What do you all recon?

Thank a lot for your reply and help!

    Cheers!

    1. It's pretty good. I didn't play through the whole thing, but I'd say it's a decent title. Nothing I would rave about.
    2. Very good game. It's been around for a while and it's available on the PC, as well (which I would recommend over the XBox 360 version). I'd make sure he hasn't played it already. Otherwise, it's something worth playing.
    3. Another very good game. Again, I didn't play though the whole thing, but I did play for a while at a friends house and it has been on my to purchase list once I actually get the time to play it. It's a co-op game primarily, so if you'd like to give him a great gift, then purchase this game for him and yourself (assuming you have X-Box 360), get some headsets, and play co-op with him and a few other friends if you can find them.

I've heard that Gears of War 2, Fallout 3, and Call of Duty 5 are great. I have my doubts about COD 5 since Infinity Ward did not code it but time will tell. Also GTA 4 has had great reviews but mixed post-release reactions. Several of my friends have said GTA 4 gets 'old' after a bit. Perhaps the thrill of the GTA series is beginning to run a bit thin.

Which Elder Scrolls title would that be?
Elder Scrolls 3 (Morrowind) is great but he may find the graphics disappointing as it's getting old.
Elder Scrolls 4 (Oblivion) is getting rave reviews but I've never played it so I can't tell from personal experience. It supposedly uses the same graphics engine as does Fallout 3.
