Fanfiction is an evil entity that must be destroyed...

It must be destroyed at all costs. People who write this stuff are fusking retarded, I swear to god! They should all be lined up and shot. Unoriginal bastards who steal somebody else's well established and popular material, and deface it's value.

Could you imagine somebody ripping the arms off of Michelangelo's "David" statue and calling it "Venus De Milo fanart", I think not. And fanfiction is just the same way! Rejects who write this stuff have no sense of grammar and are about as mentally stable as me.

But enough of my ranting. I'm looking for a few places on the net that are focused on destroying this evil, but after months (really) of searching, the only thing I've came up with is this rant. I know this whole post sounds a bit lamer-ish, but I seriously need some sources so that my English professor will give me credit for my mid term, which is due in about a month.

    Thank you for your time.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is fanfiction? I didn't find it on dictionary.com.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think its when someone who really likes a book or author decides to write a few extra chapters in the same style.
Examples would be all the people who have written thier own additions to the tolkien series (and they arn't all bad, sometimes real authors contribute to it) or even the mormans.

Commonly fanfiction refers to written narratives based on the world depicted in a movie, television program, or computer game, that are written by someone other than the creative design team. Common sources of fanfic are Star Wars, Final Fantasy, Star Trek, Diablo, Ultima Online, Infantry Online, although there are many others.

For an example, check out the fanfic sections of these Infantry fansites.

    www.infantry-sector.com

Each has a large number of fan-submitted narratives based on the game, although they are not published or authorized by Sony Online Entertainment.

To each, their own. While I don't read fanfiction, who am I to judge those who do?
