GT3, Madden 2002, THPS3, ICO, FFX, SSX: Tricky,
    MGS2, Tekken 4, SC2, DOA3
Okay, you do realize that out of that list, only
Gran Turismo 3 has been released?

Besides, DOA3 will be an Xbox exclusive
for at least 6 months. I don't even know if it
has been announced for PS2. Soul Calibur 2 will
come to GameCube before PS2. Tekken 4 is nothing
more than a rehash of Tekken Tag, which is
nothing more than a rehash of Tekken 3. Lame.

How often do you play 4 players? Also, out of the sweet DC games you listed above, how many are 4 players?
Exactly! How often do I play 4 players? Not often.
But it's nice to know, that those few times that
    I do play 4 players, I don't have to spend $30
    to do so. Try again.

    56k = Crap
Sony will have ethernet and it is well worth $40. Do you have any idea how much a PC cable modem costs?
Sega had a broadband adapter (it wasn't very
well supported, but that's because not a lot
    of people have broadband connections
    ).

I never understood this thing. Do you use it to play your DC games over your PC?
You use it to play Playstation games on your
Dreamcast. They've already emulated GT2, and
are working on MGS, and Tekken 3. Read about
    it at www.bleem.com

I don't buy a console system to do anything but play games.
Well, I guess the PS2's DVD feature doesn't appeal
to you then. (It doesn't even work on my TV/VCR)

The things at dcemulation.com are all done by
hobbiests. It's amazing what people can do with
    the system. NES/SNES/GENESIS/GAMEBOY emulators...
MP3/MPEG players. They even got Linux to run
    on the Dreamcast. http://www.dcemulation.com/soft-linux.htm

They're evil because of the tactics they've use
to sell their Products. They overhyped the PS2
and didn't deliver as many as promised. They
    lied about the specs...

They pressure retailers not to sell Bleemcast,
even though when Sony sued Bleem, Bleem won.

I love my DVD player. I'm talking about modding the thing. What's the point of running Linux on a console? Do you feel good or something because you "rebel" from the big bad corporation?

Console game systems are the best, but they are also very expensive. I don't know if I'll buy X-BoX or not. I'm moving to a new house this month, going to have a lot of room for a big screen TV but College is stiill in the way. I might have to wait until next year. I had a lot of fun with N64 though. I remember the days.
    I compile code with:
    Visual Studio.NET beta2

    Shenmue 2.

Then they shouldn't be playing online gaming. Those 56ks kill online gaming.
You obviously haven't tried it. Online play
over dreamcast is fine. Especially for Phantasy
Star Online. You should try something before
you comment on it. Besides, since most people
already have dial-up connections, there'll be
more people online to play against. Good luck
trying to find people that have a broadband
connection, a PS2, and the PS2 broadband adapter.

Dreamcast came with a 56 modem. There was nothing
to subscribe to, nothing to buy. Just input your
ISP information and you're ready to play online.

Geez, just buy a PS and stop being cheap.
Sony's cheap. They made the PSX easily
    over-heatable. I've bought 3 Playstations since
1995. The first two were early models that didn't
run on Zenith or some Magnavox television sets
(good planning ahead Sony), and the third one
is one of the newer models that has the over-
    heating protection-plate inside.

Sega included a fan inside the Dreamcast.

Besides, Bleem doesn't just allow you to play
the games. It enhances them. It plays the game
at a higher resolution with full-screen-anti-
aliasing. There's no reason why Sony couldn't
have added a similar graphic-enhancing feature
to the PS2 (The smooth textures option doesn't
do much). Go to bleem.com and check the tekken 3
screenshots (use IE. For some reason the screen-
shot window doesn't appear with Netscape).

What's the point of running Linux on a console?
Linux was an example. It has nothing to do with
a 'big bad corporation.' The point is, average
programmers have been able to do a lot of things
with the Dreamcast. I doubt you'll ever see
hobbiests creating cool things for the PS2.

    And whos fault is that?
    Sony's, obviously.

Actually I did play NFL2K1 over the SegaNet and it sucked. Lagged like hell. Yeah you got a 56k modem but it always connected at 28.8 for me. And yes, you did have to buy SegaNet if you had AOL or a few other ISPs.

I don't plan on playing the PS2 over the net. If I wanted to play games over the net I'd use my badass PC.

They already have Linux for the PS2. Although I don't see a point to it all. Does it matter? I didn't buy a PS2 to "mod" it. I did for the games and for a nice DVD player.

    Do you ever make sense?

And yes, you did have to buy SegaNet if you had AOL or a few other ISPs.
You don't need SegaNet. SegaNet is just a
regular ISP. It doesn't even exist anymore. They
moved it to Earthlink or something. Nobody ever
    needed Seganet...

Which company is still in the console business?
What the hell does that have to do with them
being cheap? Ack! You don't make sense...

Talking about Sony being cheap and all. Since you seem to have so much cash go buy a newer TV and stop your *****ing.
Who said I have a lot of cash? My TV works fine
with every console I own. It just doesn't work
with the DVD feature of the PS2. I can play
my PS2 games with no problem... Just can't watch
DVD movies (no biggie. I wouldn't use the PS2
    to watch movies anyway).

Face it, the Dreamcast was the better system. I've
provided you with reasons why it is, and you have
yet to provide reasons why the Playstation 2 is
    better. You've listed non-exclusive, non-released
    games. That doesn't show much.

If the world wasn't full of hype-following morons,
maybe people would've taken the time to actually
study the consoles and then choose. Playstation2
is living off of the success of the first machine.
If Sony would've named it anything else, they
wouldn't have sold as many. People were idiots
for choosing the Playstation 2 over the Dreamcast.

Peh, a lot of developers don't even like the PS2.
Hideo Kojima, Lorne Lanning, and John Carmack have
all made anti-Playstation 2 comments. Deal with
    it, the Dreamcast was better.

You did when I tried to play it (when it was first availible). I just used my free 50 hours (which never started counting down) but if you wanted to play afterwards you couldn't use AOL. I remember my slow AOL days, hehe

If it was better then why is Sega out of the business? You have given me no solid reasons why Sega was better. Here, I'll give you the only reason you need...

In the console business, games make a system. Sony has better games so they would have to be better. That's about as simple as I can make it for you junior.

True, but they will continue to develop for it. You wanna know why? Because they make more money doing so.

So the PS2 is hard to program for. It's still around isn't it?

Whatever. You don't know what your talking about.
I've given you plenty of reasons why the Dreamcast
was better. You've provided none on why the PS2
is better. Deal with it, child.

Sony doest not have better games!!!

    Dreamcast:
    Skies of Arcadia *
    Phantasy Star Online *
    Crazy Taxi **
    Crazy Taxi 2 *
    Sonic Adventure *
    Sonic Adventure 2 *
    Shenmue *
    NFL2K1 *
    Quake 3 Arena
    Unreal Tournament
    Virtua Tennis *
    Grandia II
    Seaman *
    Power Stone 2 *
    Jet Grind Radio *
    Soul Calibur *
    Dead or Alive 2
    Ecco the Dolphin *
    MDK2
    Rayman 2
    Baingain-O *
    Test Drive Le Mans
    MSR *
    Daytona Online *
    Street Fighter Alpha 3
    Street Fighter IIIrd Strike
    Marvel Vs. Capcom
    Marvel Vs. Capcom 2
    Resident Evil Code: Veronica
    Project Justice
    Worms World Party
    Gundam Side Story
Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 **

    * = Exclusive to DC
** = Also available on PSX/PS2, but better on DC

Games make the system. Yes, I agree. And Dreamcast
games are much, much better than PS2's. Only an
idiot would disagree with that. It's only now
that PS2 is finally getting some games that
don't suck. Their launch was pathetic. All the
games you listed haven't even been released.

If it was better then why is Sega out of the business?
Them leaving the business had nothing to do with
the quality of the Dreamcast. The Dreamcast has
been praised by both gamers and developers. The
    PS2 hasn't been.

You did when I tried to play it (when it was first availible).
You never needed Seganet! You needed a regular ISP
(AOL isn't regular). That's all. Seganet isn't any
    different than any other ISP

This argument is over. I win!

    Excuse spelling/grammar. I'm tired

Yeah your right. They are only the biggest ISP in the world.

I'm so tired of fanboys like you. I work for a website that deals with console gaming and the DC fanboys are pretty bad (nothing like the XBox ones though).

All you've said in this thread is that the DC has better games than the PS2. You said that, you can never prove that, at least not to me. I'm not a fanboy by any means (I can't wait to see and play the GC). I just feel like the DC was a huge letdown and Sega was just trying a "last resort" to get some money back after some very bad years in the market. Now after their latest failure the finally realize they can't compete. How's that for a console company that you swear by? Pretty sad to me if you ask me

    Hype! Pay attention, Fool.

So you don't think that selling 12 million systems worldwide should be considered praise?
    No, I don't. I consider them hype-following dorks,
who care more about what's popular than
    what's good.

Yeah your right. They are only the biggest ISP in the world.
Wow. I didn't know that "biggest" and "regular"
    were interchangable.

I'm so tired of fanboys like you. I work for a website that deals with console gaming and the DC fanboys are pretty bad (nothing like the XBox ones though).
Yeah, "work" for a gaming website. I have news
for you... Going to geocities.com and registering
for a free website isn't considered a job.

I'm a Fanboy?!? Wrong. I've owned almost every
console ever to be released. If anybody's a fanboy
it's you. You like the PS2, but you can't say why.
You can only name non-existant games. That's
    pretty lame.

I'm not a fanboy by any means (I can't wait to see and play the GC).
    You obviously are.

I just feel like the DC was a huge letdown and
Sega was just trying a "last resort" to get some
money back after some very bad years in the
    market.
Huge letdown? You don't even know what you're
talking about. You obviously don't own one. And
you obviously have never spent enough time with
one to form your own opinion. You're one of Sony's
    many puppets.

Now after their latest failure the finally realize they can't compete.
I never said they could compete. They obviously
    can't compete against Sony's ability to over-hype
their products. The fact still is, there are
currently more games worth playing on the
Dreamcast, than there are on the PS2.

Pretty sad to me if you ask me
    Yeah. You suck.

don't get your panties in a knot.

I find that PS2 gams are largely boring after the first few hours of playing... the facade of graphics is used incorrectly by PS2 games for the most part.

DC games are better, playability wise, but it's dieing, so who the hell knows?
