If you are going to flash a quick screen on TV, I think its a better executive decision to do something like the JavaScript replicators than to have actual code that may look like it does something that people will disect and argue with on fan sites.

hey geeks. you're all wrong because morpheus specifically said it was a training program, not the matrix.

    gosh...

Umm, actually its better to do it the other way, because having fans arguing about your code is free advertising.

I think just about everyone who commented on the subject said that.

This whole "It's javascript!" topic is free advertising too, is it not?

It's interesting to note (for those of you who have read the book of Jurassic Park), that the code in the book is all C code (if my memory serves me correctly).

But yeah it seems as if the code in the movie was Pascal.

Wouldn't it be cool if the code they showed in the movie was actually part of the famous Jurassic Park semaphore problem that is commonly approached by CS undergrads in a systems class?

I was hoping someone would bring up the matrix. Another stupid little thing is why would they need a home telephone to get out of the matrix and not just a cell phone? My dumb ass friend replied by stating the phone needs connection to some sort of internet. He must have been one of the writers of the matrix.

Its one of those things you just have to accept as "how it is." And yes, your friend does need to start thinking a bit more about what he is saying before he opens his mouth. Though perhaps the most intriguing thing is that the issue of whether or not just anyone can exit the matrix through a phone was addressed when Smith did manage to send out one of his clones via a phone.
