    Son of Simp

Going through old threads, I found a poll about the Simpsons... Someone (Dalren, maybe) asked if anyone knew what state they were from... Anyone know?? I don't think they come right out and say it, but I think it can be inferred that it's eitehr Kentucky or North Dakota...

Also - I remember driving back to Michigan from Florida and we passed signs for Shelbyville and Springfield really close together... I just don't remember where.

wasnt me who was asking. There is so many conflicting facts that i dont think any state really fits 100%. If you see the episode "Mr. Lisa Goes To Washington" (the one where she writes the essay and goes to DC) you see an outline of part of the state and it didnt look like any state i remember.

Second it cant be Kentucky, in the episode with scorpio, the letter from his boss says "if your ever on the east coast, drop me a line" although Kentucky isnt exactly on the east coast it is close enough that you wouldnt use a phrase like that.

    Most useless thread?

Cheese, don't take this wrong. After all, we're best friends, right? Okay, maybe not best friends, but we're close! Alright, maybe we're not all that close. In fact, we really don't even know each other, but I do have a doll of you. It looks just like you! Well, I don't know if it looks like you at all, but I named him Cheese. He's my friend. He sits on my lap a lot, and we love each other... in a plutonic way... sorta. Okay, it's not always plutonic but you always start it! I mean he always starts it. Cheese the doll starts it. I named him Cheese. We love each other. Well, I don't know for a fact that Cheese the Doll loves me, but I love him and he doesn't complain and I love him because he's you and we're buddies. I mean the doll and I are buddies. I named him Cheese.

    But I digress.

Isn't starting a thread about the geographic location of the Simpsons a little... useless? Don't take that the wrong way; after all, we're best friends...

This is the funniest thing I've ever read...

To answer your question - useless is in the eye of the beholder... And I love you too

Anyways - I guess I'd have to see that episode, Dalren...
In one episode, though, they something about going over the south border, and Bart questions "Tennessee?"

I read an article somewhere that "Springfield" isn't actually a real town but is based on the town of the creator. He used the name becuase it's one of the most common city names. Still, they might be lying, so it's still fun to try and guess.

20 hours - Lansing to Orlando... It's forever, but a ton cheaper than flying.

20? Is that all? (that's quick) It took me 25 to get from St Paul, MN to Las Cruces, NM (plus a 4 hour nap in Texas).
I recommend everyone take a cross country trip at some point in time. It's great to see all the different towns along the way. My favorite part is getting gas from a station in the middle of nowhere. By the end of the trip you're thinking only 3 hours to go woo who. Makes little hour long trips seem like a drive to the grocery store.

    Sorry to go off topic.

The simpsons don't exist. So why does it matter what state they "live" in?

They don't really tell you, is one of those things that maybe on their last episode they'll tell you where it is, like they did in Home Improvement where in the last epidose they showed Wison's face without anything covering it.

My record was 22.5 hours from Toronto. You take I75, its much faster than I95, scenery isn't as good (you have to go through Detroit ) Is the speed limit still 65? I was hoping they'd bump that up sometime.
What are you talking about "Simpsons isn't real" I thought it was an artist's rendering or a real 'nuclear family'...

    Favourite line:
