Heh - that was my desktop for awhile, too, drewpee, then I replaced it with the cool picture that fordy posted on flashdaddee.
> Is the speed limit still 65? I was hoping they'd bump that up sometime.
The expressway speed limit in Michigan's been 70 for at least as long as I've been driving (I think it changed in 96 or so)

Yeah, that sounds about right, last time I went through was '95. I remember Ohio being real slow, low speed limit and slow drivers. I could probably beat my record with the limit at 70. I used to cruise at 75-80, I could probably squeek that out to 85 maybe 90, now:D
I'd just take out a bit extra cash for the tickets...

All the map "Zoom In(s)" I have seen on the show over the years point right towards the Great lake region of the country.
**side note**
My greatest cross country experience = Key West to Los Angeles by car then Los Angeles to New York by train.

In the Episode where Homer and Ned end up in Vegas, they travel into the state, so they coudn't live there :p.
-
OK - how about this one - in the episode where they go to Florida for Spring Break, at the end Homer pulls out a map with every state crossed off that they aren't allowed back into. North Dakota's the only one left...
Damn you Groening, why do you taunt us so!

Just remembered something else, in the episode where bart gets a fake id and they rent a car, when they are trying to figure out where to go they drive to knoxville tennesee to see the worlds fair. and on there way to tenesee they drive through georgia. Kind of hard to live in Kentucky and go through georgia on your way to knoxville.
