    New board suggestion

Hey, you guys should add an assembly language board, I dont see why not too, I mean you guys put up boards like programmers prognography and find dead relatives. It sure would be usefull and I would even gain more respect for cprog.

    thanks

Except those boards are what's commonly known as a "joke"...

(again, before you ask - I'm not picking on you)

Perhaps it's also a good idea to introduce a Java board, this is very closely related to C# and C++.

How many times has this been gone over before? More boards == bad! There's all of these boards at other sites...

Why? Flashdaddee has these boards but not enough members to support them, cprog has plenty of members.

    > Flashdaddee has these boards

Right, but one of the purposes when flashdaddee was made (rick might want to correct me on this) was to not limit itself to just a few languages or topics (evidenced by the coolest board anywhere - the movies board ).

    This is CProgramming.com, not Candsomeotherlanguagesprogramming.com

    > I would love to see a built in spell checker

That is one thing I'd like to see (although only on the GD board - typing code with that up would be a pain in the butt)

i agree with stupid_mutt. fd has many extra boards (cobol, music, movies, even one called nestle beverage company). we can add another board without sacrificing the all-important accuracy of the web-site name.

So... it isn't going to happen.

    Cprogramming.com...

It isn't like you can't discuss asm or java on this board. It is a waste of space and doesn't fit with the format Cprogramming.com (major emphasis on the C)

This should be a freakin FAQ....

True, but that's really programming in C with some ASM mixed in. There's no reason why a question pertaining to inline ASM could not be posted at the C forum.

Well the url still doen't stop the occasional desperate programmer posting questions on java on this board. And I'd think you would have a bit more luck asking a asm question here than a java one.
