Really? Provide a logical reason as to why you do that.

You need a logical explanation on why jumping to conclusions is not intelligent? Don't you find it a little ironic that you're asking for logical reasoning when, in fact, you are the one making conclusions with no such reasoning? If I were you, I'd try to stick to the smoking topic in this debate... at least there is data on the internet that you could copy/paste on that subject.

Okay, I was wrong; I change my statement to:

When I see someone smoking I will automatically presume them an undisciplined or dumb person, or someone who just doesn't care about the consequences or prefers the pleasure over the lost life.

All of which I see as bad.

I smoke because I like Yarin. I'm neither of the things you said. So what's your point exactly?

Can you please understand the meaning of prejudice? I can certainly understand you don't like smoking or being around someone who smokes. It's your prerogative. But wen you start issuing judgment you are begging to be judged. And right now... I'd have you jailed for life.

Accepting people's differences is a half the way to become civilized. Being a fascist is not.

    That's true.
You prefer the enjoyment of smoking over the risk of shortening your life. That's your preference. I guess it does makes sence when you think about it; that's exactly what we all do when we have a suger covered suger puff.
    I apologize.
(Oh, I'm not being sarcastic, I know it could be read like that, so I'm just saying)

    No smoking.
I have no bad feelings about those who smoke. Just that they should not smoke in public. The smell and the smoke is choaking.

There's a slight mental addiction too Sly. Among smokers it's called (hope the translation is a direct one), social habit. And it goes to explain why people that have stopped smoking for several years, feel a sudden urge in certain environments or situations.

It also serves to explain one strange phenomena; Studies indicate that our the physical addiction is quiet easily overcomed by our organism. It seems that after 3 days our body forgot all about nicotine. However, it takes much longer than that for us to feel relieved of the addition.

I've seen those studies. I do agree about the social habit aspect of it, however... I've seen studies that dispute the three day addiction relieve theories. Ones based more on gender, weight, anscetory, length of smoking habit, amount of smoking habit, etc... it shows how body-to-body some may overcome the addiction fast while others take a long time. It also explained while some people develop lung cancer much easier than others.

If I find the articles, I'll post them. They are a good read.

As for the social habit... while I agree it's real. It's just far too common for me to consider it a mental issue. Social pressure exists well outside of the realm of drugs and I think everyone is completely susceptible to it.

    I've smoked for several years.

These days I normally go through a pack in a day or so. Normally I buy in bulk when I can to avoid withdrawl since it kinda sucks. I will probably quit in my later years.

I'll put out my cigarette if someone asks me. That's not a big deal, it's courtesy and I can wait to smoke again. But, when you come up to me like a pompous a-hole and start preaching - to an empty choir, no less - just remember: as a non-smoker, it bothers you. As a smoker, it always kills me. I think I'm getting the short end. Let me be happy in my ignorance or whatever you want to call it; you can't please everybody all the time.

    lol, I like that attitude.
I don't smoke cigarettes, but I have a weakness for cigars. Fortunately they're too expensive to smoke every day.

I smoke. Just maybe 7 to half a pack a day.
Kinda a funny story. I use to not wanna smoke, but whenever I would hit the bottles that changed. I always wanted to smoke when I was drunk but everytime I tried I put the wrong end in my mouth, ya...the lit end ( I always bummed someone elses already lit ciggy back then).

I would never pay attention to what I was smoking and I would do it without looking. Anyways that happened twice but I got it right another time when I was wasted. Been smokin' ever since.

Didja ever notice how smoking-haters congregate around smokers. That's just wierd.

Ya, its not the people who don't smoke but the people who hate smokers.

Bah. There's more dangerous toxins being belched from the exhausts of planes, trains and automobiles (not to mention countless industrial plant sources and their emissions) that dwarf anything the burning of a cigarette can do to non-smokers.
Not true. While car exhaust fumes may probably kill me if concentrated enough, I can walk any street without problems, I can visit airports just fine, I can even drive through industrial areas without noticing. I can not visit a pub or bar where smoking is allowed. Staying there for just an hour having a glass of water will be enough for a very bad hangover the next day. If I stay for 2 hours with friends and drink a beer, I'm gone for good. I cannot visit a pub on another day than saturday, because I need a day off to regenerate. And if I have the same symptoms wether I visit a room of smokers or getting drunk, I'd rather get drunk. Or better yet, nothing of the two. Bye bye smokers, I don't regret not having been in a pub for 2 years and I don't regret not meeting smokers anymore. I don't ........ in your drinks, so don't smoke in the air I breathe please.

She was so Blonde, she spent 20 minutes looking at the orange juice can because it said "Concentrate."

When in doubt, read the FAQ.
    Then ask a smart question.

Hmm... but doesn't Germany already prohibit smoking in closed public spaces?
