The irony of last nights Super Bowl game was extraordinary. I live near the University of Illinois, and the U of I's football team played at the New Orleans Superdome on New Years day in the Nokia Sugar Bowl against the LSU Tigers. Illinois quaterback Kurt Kittner (I think I spelled his last name correctly) hurt a finger on his throwing hand early in that game. Illinois never got on trak in that game, and was completely dominated by LSU in the first half. They managed to make the game somewhat respectable in the second half, but it was too little too late.

Both quarterbacks first name is Kurt, and they both injured their hand early in the biggest football game of the season, in a losing effort. And I believe, but aren't sure, that the last football game played at the Superdome before the Super Bowl, was the Sugar Bowl game.

After the game against Philadelphia, you could see that the Rams were not hitting on all cylinders, and they were primed for an upset, AND IT HAPPENED

Except the Saints' last game of the season (Jan. 6 - I believe that was after the Sugar Bowl, wasn't it?)

Hehe - that sounds like the Nostradamus stuff after 9/11... Btw, Warner injured his hand way earlier in the season - he just aggravated it last night.

One thing that bothers me though about the outcome of this playoff season, is that the New England Patriots lost to the Oakland Raiders, when the New England QB fumbled the football late in the game. Oakland should have the Super Bowl trophy.

    ???

Brady's arm was comin' forward, buddy - it was an incomplete pass, not a fumble.

If you say so... That's jsut one of those things everyone's going to see something different on...

D'you think that the human error that the refs bring to the game is part of the game itself?

Yes, it just was not politically correct for the Raiders to win that game after the events of 911.

The bottom line is, the Raiders got ripped off and the NFL can't hide it. Remember Brett Hulls "goal" against the Buffalo Sabres for the Stanley Cup... , it's just sort of like that.
