Heh. I wanna give it a play through but yeah, based on what everyone and his dog has been saying, I'll probably not find much to like.

I was wondering that too. With any luck I'll be able to enlighten us by monday.

Still no reply from them :seethe:

I got it free in a trade so I didn't have the unforortunate disatvantage of actually spending money on it. IT was a beautiful looking game, great interactions, cool settings...but only the first time you visit a city. The other cities are just re-skinned versions of a crowded city and after playing through each one 9 times and doing repetitive missions to get the same information (location) only to make the hit in a few minutes is a shame. The story was meh and there was little Kristen bell could do to save the game.

Not to mention the hair, beard and all that was pasted in their faces and wouldn't move no matter how much they budged

I didn't spend much time looking at the faces but had the gameplay not been so broken then some may have ignored it. the fighting though was interesting. Love dagger combat/countering.

I'm hoping they learned quite a bit of lessons since they're deciding on making it a franchise starter, and UBI made a lot of money from it so I guess they hyped it up quite a bit.

The only thing I'm looking forward to from UBI now is Splinter Cell: Conviction. Or as it should be called, Splinter Cell: Odd Numbered Proper Ubisoft Montreal - Conviction.

Huh? Horrible perfomance in what sense? Bad controls or graphical performance? Are you implying that a PC can be more powerful than the X360?

Choppy framerates due to the insane requirements.

There isn't a single GPU benchmark or review that even acknowledges Assassin's Creed as a high system requirements game... Try Crysis, Supreme Commander, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., or World In Conflict.

Well, whatever. I'm just guessing. And I don't like either of those games.

The 360 framerate was actually very smooth with little to no chopiness, even in crowded (pretty much everywhere).

Just got my 1GB 8600 ordered last night, so I dont think choppiness will be an issue. Of course I sold it to myself as lettign me do GPU based software development at home, but if it makes my games run faster thats nice too.

I'm not even gonna go there.

Tonight I want to make a thread for CPU case pictures, I'll take pics of mine if anyone else wants to join in, they can.

My point is, No amount of smooth framerates, no amount of hi-res textures, no amount of bloom can help a bad playing game.

Gameplay is king, thats why most games i buy get played for a few weeks, adn then who knows where they go, and some games stay aroudn fro a decade or more (Total Annihilation)

That explains why I can still get choppy framerates on a 9600GT (in Oblivion) which is superior to 8600.
    Don't expect miracles.

That doesn't sound right. I assume you are talking about the Geforce 9600 and not the Radeon ^_^

Anywho, game performance rarely relies solely on the GPU. Other factors such as FSB speed (and all that new fangled hyper transport stuff), Processor performance, and ram latency all have big impacts on your framerate.
    What is C++?
