Does anybody have any working gif-lib examples? The one example included confuses the hell out of me and doesn't do anything when I run it.

If you find anything, please let me know.. I've struggled with tifflib myself, and gave it up..
I used pdfcreator instead, and printed to the printerdc.
Be warned . . . using GifLib might make Unisys upset. http://ca.geocities.com/libungif/giflib.html

dwks, no it won't. Unisys patent on the LZW compression expired.

There's a GIFLIB forum: https://sourceforge.net/forum/?group_id=102202
It doesn't look very active, but you might have better luck there than here.
You could try installing the giflib-progs or giflib-tools packages. They might be an unreadable mess of code, or helpful, I don't know.
