Latest Platform SDK includes MFC 4.2 source code!

I just installed the latest Platform SDK and noticed that it included source code for the CRT, ATL (with private use only license), and MFC 4.2.

There was no license agreement on the MFC source that I could find, only a "readme" that contained:
These files have been included for reference purposes, in conjunction with the Class Library Reference manual and tutorial.
There are no libs, DLLs, or help for MFC - but there are make files to build them yourself.

The Platform SDK claims that it will only install on Win2K and up. But you can build applications that will run on 95 and up.

I don't use MFC often, so is 4.2 the latest version? Or a previous version?

Well, I just did a diff on the source that ships with VC++ 6.0 and the Platform SDK - the version from the Platform SDK contains:
    - several bug fixes and
    - changes to support a 64bit target

Other than that, it's the same version that ships with VC++ 6.0 - so it's not the latest.

I've attached the license agreement that comes with the Platform SDK - it seems to allow full use of the ATL, MFC, and CRT.
