    Dev-C++ and Icon Editing...

    Hi guys, i was peeking ahead in my Programming Windows Fifth Edition and because the book is geared towards people with VC++ (that apparently has a built in Icon Editor for programs) i dont think my compiler (dev c++) does. If it does could someone explain how to access it? If it doesnt (which i dont think it does) could someone provide an alternative/free icon editting program? The only thing i am worried about is if i do get a Third-Party program i will not be able to add it into the resource file. I dont know anything about resource files... Yet, but apparently in VC++ most of this stuff is done for you when you make, define and link the Icon you made. Thanks guys for any help you can provide!

    Anyone? Surely someone here must do windows programming with Dev-C++ instead of VC++, and also make there own icons for their programs. Suggestions/Alternatives would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

    I don't know that Dev-C++ has icon editor, as far as i know. You can simply download free icon editor or demo version of icon editor. Just put icon file on your program directory.

    Okay after some searching, and trying of some different programs i have found a Free one that converts bitmaps into ICO files. So my last question is will i be able to use those ICO's in resource files? (I havent read anything about them yet so a simple: yes or no will suffice) Thanks!
