    msdn

Hey everyone, sorry if this is off-topic, but I didn't really know where else to ask this. I figure all you windows programming guys will know the answer

It's about ms visual c++ .net, and specifically the msdn library. Is there any difference between the version that's on the cd and the online version? Is there any reason to install the cd? Or are they different? And what about that subscription stuff on the msdn site?

Thanks for the clarification, I appreciate it.

I'm not sure that the entire msdn library is available for download on the web. The html version certainly is up there. It's all the same stuff. I like having it local. It integrates with the IDE such that you can "F1" a function name in your code. Kinda nice.

If you're talking about the Platform SDK stuff, get the stuff from the web every time its updated. It'll definitely be more up to date than what's on your CD.

I used to have a copy of a local MSDN library, it was very nice to have when I had it installed. Anyone know where I could download a copy?
