    dont understand VS.NET

I am completely new to VS.NET and have no idea where to even begin, I dont even know how I would get it to output hello world, my c++ programming is ok and I have been using Visucal C++ 6 up until now with no problem as starting a new cpp file then just click build when i was done, now I dont even know what i am supose to click on to start, can someone please help me as the msdn is very steep learning curve and is not much help as i still cant get hello world or anything to output i am completely stumped.

All I need is for someone to tell me what to do from creating the cpp file to running the program, nothing complex at all just tell me what i click.

    Thanks

Perhaps you should look at the help that comes with Visual Studio .Net
While you're breakin' down my back n'
I been rackin' out my brain
It don't matter how we make it
'Cause it always ends the same
You can push it for more mileage
But your flaps r' wearin' thin
And I could sleep on it 'til mornin'
    But this nightmare never ends
Don't forget to call my lawyers
    With ridiculous demands
An you can take the pity so far
But it's more than I can stand
    'Cause this couchtrip's gettin' older
Tell me how long has it been
    'Cause 5 years is forever
An you haven't grown up yet

    Unhappy

The help that comes with VS.net is the MSDN library as such what is on the MSDN site is more upto date I checked it and still didnt understand, all i am asking is someone to tell me what i click to get from writing my code to running the program surely you guys who sound so adept as the program could provide such simple answers, VS.net seem more complicated than VC++ 6 yet i read on this board that it was the most simple to understand, yet it involves more to get going than VC++ 6? I only got it because I read it was better to use and since its newer and .NET is industry standard I decided it was worth it, now i am beginning to regret the purchase.

all new compilers are difficult to use, especially the MSVS variety.

but i will tell you from personal experience that VS.NET is by far the best compiler i have ever used.

one thing to keep in mind: the "workstation" from VC6 is now a "solution" in VC.NET. aside from that, everything works almost the same. you create a new solution, then you right click on the solution in the solution explorer and add a project. then you right click on the project and add files. ive used both VC6 and VC.NET and if you used one you shouldnt have a problem with the other.

    I thought it was "workspace".

Anyway, I love using VS .NET 2003. Its extremely nice to use, with all the Object Browsing and Code Completion gadgetry that comes with it.

Anyway here's a VS .NET tutorial. Its for the 2002 version I believe.
