    DirectDraw

Quick question about Direct Draw surfaces.

Is there a way of creating a grid out of surfaces in a windowed application using direct draw?

If this is possible, can these surfaces be overlapped through z-index references?

Also, is this the best way to go about drawing a window, and updating each individual part at different stages?

    Thanks in advance,

Don't know much about Direct Draw, but I can point you to a good link:
