    online status

    Is there any way to find out if there's an active dial-up connection and the computer's online?

    Yes. I'm going to be vague (so you have to do some leg-work) use the RAS API. The latest mingw supports it, MSVC++ supports it, and I'm pretty sure Borland 5 and up support it.
