Thread: WNDCLASSEX vs. WNDCLASS (Newbe) ???

I'm learning win32, proberly way to early! I can't even make a consol program. Well i can, but not werry well

but, well....
I'm run in to a problem!
I don't know when to use WNDCLASSEX and when to use WNDCLASS???

some tutorials use WNDCLASSEX and some WNDCLASS...

I know I't something whit childe window's, right???

Please help me

You think correctly. If you need the extras that the "ex" gives you, then use the "ex" version, if not you can use the other. Using "ex" versions of things, (there are numerous in Win32 - things develop over time), is not generally dangerous in the early days.

When you get more experienced, you will discover certain "ex" functions do not work in the same way as the non "ex" version, but don't worry about it now.

I just gonna use the WNDCLASS for now. I don't know the extra funktions/options that WNDCLASSEX gives anyway...
