Smile Anything cool in Command Prompt?

I have Windows 7 on my PC and was wondering if there are any little fun things to do in command prompt. I liked the Star Wars movie in XP and I also think it's interesting to use the "ping www.websitename.com" (website name referring to whatever website you want) to find the ip address.

Then you're going to love tracert! Yes, it's been around forever, but so has ping. While you're at it, check out the dir command.

BTW, you realize that the Star Wars movie had nothing to do with XP, right? It's just someone hosting it up over telnet. You can still access it in Windows 7. Or Linux for that matter. Just Start -> Run -> telnet towel.blinkenlights.nl

What? No, everybody knows tracert shows you who is connected to a specific website and their connection speed

Yes, I know it's the link that's fine and the video that's screwy

typing help shows you a pretty authoritative list of what's available as standard. tasklist, taskkill and findstr are the standard tools I use most often, though that doesn't really mean much.

Make sure you have the telnet client installed (it's not by default in Win7): Start -> Run -> appwiz.cpl, click "Turn Windows Features On or Off" on the left, find "Telnet Client" in the list.

Tracert doesn't show who's connected to a website by the way - that video's so wrong and the kid in it's an idiot. It shows your forwarding to the website. Basically what networks and machines yours has to go through to get to your target.
